Carl J. Osterbur, 90, of Danville died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 26, 2015) at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

He was born July 27, 1925 in Royal, the son of Frank and Eilinda (Johnson) Osterbur. Carl was united in marriage to Nina E. Patberg on Nov. 11, 1955 in Danville until her passing in 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his five brothers.

He is survived by his children, James Osterbur and Judy (Gary) Hamand and one granddaughter.

Carl was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He worked at Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Danville for 46 years as a service technician.

Carl was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville and served as elder for many years, as well as usher. He volunteered as a Boy Scout leader for numerous years and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of American Legion Post 210 for 64 years and was in the 40&8 club, as well as a member of American Legion Royal Post 996.
