She was born June 23, 1923, to Harry and Alfa Wagner in Winona, Minn. She grew up and attended school in Minnesota.
She married Erwin William Brannies in South Gate, Calif., on May 15, 1948.
After high school, she moved to Los Angeles County in California. She moved to Cottage Grove four years ago to be close to her children.
She was a homemaker and she enjoyed caring for her family.
In her early years, she enjoyed creating charcoal and watercolor art pieces as well as crewel embroidery. Crossword puzzles and picture puzzles were a favorite pastime.
She is survived by her children, Gary Brannies and Janet Hogan, both of Cottage Grove; her brother and sister, Harry Wagner of Grass Valley, Calif., and Zoanne Heath of Harrison, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Debra and Jennifer.
A family memorial service has been held and a private inurnment will be held in Rose Hills memorial Park at Whittier, Calif. Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
