On Friday, August 21st, David passed away peacefully at his home in San Lorenzo after a long and heroic battle with Spinal Cerebellar Ataxia 17 (SCA-17), the debilitating genetic disease that took his two daughters, Amy (August 1994) and Ashley (May 2003), his son, Tyler (May 2015) and his identical twin brother, Douglas (July 2015).
David was born in San Francisco and raised in San Bruno. He graduated from Crestmoor High School and Cal State Hayward. After earning his Certified Public Accounting license, he opened his own successful CPA practice in the East Bay where he lived with his wife, Diane of 33 years, and where they created a full life of extraordinary memories filled with love and laughter with friends and family.
David will be remembered for his strong faith, his bright smile, his boundless generosity and his ever present compassion and kindness. He was an exceptionally loving and supportive husband, father and friend who touched many lives.
We will miss David but we will rejoice in the knowledge that he is with his Savior, reunited with his children, and finally free of the ravaging effects of this extremely rare degenerative neurological disease.
David will be interned privately at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward alongside his 3 children.
