July 23, 1968 - June 27, 2015
Erin Christine Krietsch, 46, of Denton, Texas passed away on June 27, 2015, due to complications of lung cancer. Erin was born in Sandusky Ohio on July 23, 1968. Erin grew up in Modesto and attended Sylvan schools, Central Catholic High School and Modesto Junior College.
Creativity flowed through all areas of Erin's life: Writing, singing, art, and performing with Modesto Youth Theatre. Erin had a rare gift of music with 'perfect pitch', teaching herself to play the piano and guitar at an early age. Life took Erin to San Francisco where she worked in the restaurant industry for many years to become a skilled chef. Later she would live in New Orleans as well as Denton, Texas, working in the art field with her partner, artist Justin Forbes.
Erin is survived by her long-time partner Justin Forbes of Denton Texas; her mother and step father, Jean Marie Griffin (Jack) of Modesto CA; her father and step mother, Gary Krietsch (Mary) of Arcata CA; her sister, brother-in-law and nephew, Angela Burge (Bob) and Anders Burge of Modesto CA; step siblings John Griffin III of Santa Rosa, CA, Kate Griffin Mello and family of Modesto CA; and Molly Griffin Wilson and family of Orinda CA. She is also survived by her beloved kitty, Toki. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Russell and Dolly Bertholf and her paternal grandparents Donald Krietsch and Roberta Ryan. A private memorial will be held by her family.
Erin's journey has come to an end. For all those who knew and loved her, she will be remembered for her big heart, many talents and keen intellect. We rest in the knowledge that she suffers no more. Rest in peace darling girl, we love you forever...
