Mattie Mae Hiatt Willett, age 77, of Sanford, NC, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at Parkview Retirement Center.


Mrs. Willett was born in Surry County, NC, on April 28, 1937, to the late George Martin Hiatt and Girile Mae Jones Hiatt.

She worked as a seamstress for W Koury Company prior to retirement. She was a member at Moore Union Christian church. She loved to garden, paint and sew. Mrs. Willett worked part-time at the Enrichment Center in Sanford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven "Bud" O'Bryant Willett.
Surviving relatives include her sons, Herbert O'Bryant Willett and fiancAC.e Maria of Sanford and Troy Steven Willett and wife Wanda Lynn of Sanford; four daughters, Lena Mae Gulledge of Sanford, Barbara Sue McGehee and husband Tommy of Star, Joyce W. Phillips and husband James of Sanford and Carol Lynn Willett of Sanford; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 4 to 6PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Monday, March 2nd, 2PM, at Moore Union Christian Church with Rev. David Yarborough presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Moore Union Christian Church, General Fund, 4294 Buckhorn Rd., Sanford, NC 27330.
