Rachel Lowella Dean, was born near Eudora, Kansas, October 24, 1893, and died at Bell Memorial hospital, August 27, 1937, at the age of 44 years. She was married to Clarence Mathia, in April 1909; to this union were born: Mrs. Merle Reusch of Tonganoxie, Kas; James and George Edward of the home. She had been in poor health for the past few months and she entered the hospital August 20 and underwent major operation August 27, which caused her death. Besides her children she leaves her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs.. Ira Deay of California, five brothers and two sisters and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Chambers Funeral Home with the Rev. J.M. Torrence officiating after which burial was made in the Silent City west of De Soto.
Rachel was a good mother, a true friend and a fine neighbor.
