My 3rd great grandfather, Johann Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Koehler was born 3 April 1820 in Prussia/Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1882 with his wife, Ernestine Louise Maria Muhme, my 3rd great grandmother, and several of their single and married children and grandchildren aboard the Ship ELBE. He was listed as a ship owner on his daughter's christening record. He was known by the name Friedrich and his wife went by the name Louise. 2. Karl Kohler, born about 1845-1847 married Mathild Zerner (or Matilda). Karl and Matilda had children: Fritz, Otto, Emma, Charles.)
3. Gustav "Gus" Kohler, born about 1849, married Hulda Mueller
4. Robert Kohler, born about 1854 married Bertha Obst.
5. Maria Luise Therese Koehler, born 1859 Prussia, died 6 March 1864 in Nakel, Wirsitz, Prussia (now Poland)
Friedrich was struck and killed by a train in Cleveland and a coroner's inquest record exists with additional details of the accident.
