Lillian Loewen Of Lodi Dies
Mrs. Lydia Lillian Loewen, 68-year-old lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, passed away in a local hospital Saturday morning following short illness. A native of Marion, Kansas, Mrs. Loewen had resided in Lodi since 1921. For many years, she and her husband, Isaac Loewen, conducted the Loewen Grocery on Central ave. and Flora st. and in the past few years operated Loewens Clothing Store on Central ave. The family home was a 517 S. Central.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two children, Walter Loewen of Lockeford; and Elmer Loewen of Lodi; two grandchildren, Marlene Loewen of Angwin and Thomas Loewen of Lodi.
Mrs. Loewen was the sister of Mrs. Selma Ehrlich of Glendale, Mrs. Bessie Schafer of Glendale, Mrs. Pauline Schmidt of Los Angeles, Mrs. Carl Hollander of O'Keene, Okla.; Jonas Betz of O'Keene, Okla.; Mrs. Ora Whal of Canton, Okla.; Mrs. Esther Schafer of Watonga, Okla.; and John Betz of Avon, S.D..
She was the sister-in-law of P.W. Loewen of Lodi; Mrs. Katie Heinz, Mountain View; Mrs. Sarah Strauss of Shafter; and Henry Loewen, of Hooker, Okla.
