From Town Lima there is sad news that Mrs. Maria Josephine VanTreeck nee Ott died peacefully Tuesday afternoon after a brief but severe illness. The deceased was the mother of Pastor P. J. VanTreeck of the local St. Peter Claver Church. She fell victim of cancer. She was born in Reichtshausen, Bavaria 31 December 1830 and almost reached 60 years of age. In 1848 she came to America with relatives and siblings and lived in Town Wilson until she was married to Mr. Jacob VanTreeck. They were married 11 October 1852 in Sheboygan by Father Fußeder. The marriage was blessed by 14 children with 3 that preceded their mother in death. Two sons were ordained priests and 2 daughters were in a religious order. Tomorrow (Friday) morning at 10:00 o'clock she will be buried at St. George Cemetery.
