He was born in Greenfield, Mo., to Henry Read and Marie (Corones) Read on Jan. 15, 1935. Ed retired from Tamko as maintenance foreman. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, in Webb City, Mo., and enjoyed going to Grand Lake, spending time with his family.
Ed married Rosa Ellen Read on April 24, 1954, in Miami, Okla., and she survives at home.
He is also survived by his daughters, Jeannie Pritchard, and husband, Rob, of Carthage, Rosa Pfeifle, and husband, David, of Webb City; son, Danny Read, of Carthage; aunt, Mary Powell, of Webb City; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; along with two additional family members, Danny Muench, of Carthage, and Donnie Spencer, of Joplin, Mo.; along with many friends and neighbors of the Brooklyn Heights Community. Ed was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Dale Read, on Oct. 3, 2013.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28, at 2 p.m. in Webb City Cemetery.
