John & Amanda Dodds had 2 daughters, Annie Dodds Hill and Merle Dodds Bretzius. Amanda died in 1918 during the Spanish Flu epidemic, and John died a year later in 1919 as a result of an injury sustained in the coal mine at Lincoln Colliery. Their daughters were raised by Amanda's parents, Joseph F. & Angelina Kimmel. (This information was provided by Amanda's sister, Ethel Kimmel Graver.)
