Mr. Izzard was born on July 3, 1937, in Georgetown, SC, a son of James Izzard and Mrs. Nancy Monroe Izzard. He attended Howard High School and for many years worked as the owner/operator of Izzard and Son Carpentry, in addition to South Carolina National Bank’s building maintenance. He was a member of Greater St. Stephen A.M.E. Church since early youth, and was an an avid baseball player with the local Charlie Berry Team.
He is survived by his children, Ruhdine Gamble, Ramona Izzard Kearse-Holmes, Georgetown, SC, Ryan Izzard, Myrtle Beach, SC, Richard Allen Izzard, Jr.,West Columbia, SC, Rieco Izzard, Durham, NC.
