She was born March 5, 1934, in Sante Fe, Auglaize County, the daughter of Carl F. and Lylah A.(Hover) Minnich. On January 19, 1952, she married Harold (Gene) Oakman, who survives.
Mrs. Oakman was a homemaker. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Wapakoneta and past president of Wapakoneta Eagles Lodge 691 Auxiliary. She was a 1951 graduate of Blume High School.
Survivors also include two daughters, Mrs Larry (Debra) Roop and Mrs. David (Patricia) Harrod, both of Wapakoneta; two sons, Anthony E. (Tony) Oakman of Auburn, Mass., and Douglas A. Oakman of Wapakoneta; 13 grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Zelotes (Mary Catherine) Eschmeyer of St. Marys, Mrs Quinton (Ruth) McLean of Walled Lake, Mich., Mrs Irvin (Philena) Braun, Mrs William "Jim" (Barbara) Myers, Evelyn Minnich and Mrs Larry (Thelma) Musser, all of Wapakoneta; and four brothers, Robert Minnich of New Bremen, Harry Minnich of Uniopolis, William Minnich of Wapakoneta, and David Minnich of St. Matthews, SC.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, S/SGT Joseph Minnich, James Minnich, and Donald Minnich.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patrick Heinl Chapel of Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, with Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Friends may call 2 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home, where Eagles auxiliary memorial services will be held at 8 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Rita's Hospice program.
