LUCAS - Henry Schmidt, 64, long-time resident of Lucas, died of a heart attack Friday afternoon while tearing down an old building near Lucas. He was born in Russia, December 27, 1897. He came to Kansas in his childhood and lived in the Lucas community ever since. He was a farmer and carpenter.

Survivors are the widow, Clara, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Sperry and Mrs. Howard Naegele, both of Lucas; a son, Loren, Lee's Summit, Missouri; a brother, Reinhardt, and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Claussen and Mrs. Herman Nuss, all of Dorrance, and 11 grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 23 pm Monday at the Lucas Evangelical United Brethren Church, the Revs. V. J. Boehringer and John Kejr Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Delhi cemetery north of Lucas. Friends may call Sunday at the Rodrick-Minear Funeral Home, Lucas.
