Richard R. Jonjes

The funeral for Richard R. Tonjes, 53, of Newton, Kan., will be 2
p.m. Thursday at First Conregational Church, United Church of
Christ in Uehling.

Mr. Tonjes died Saturday, Feb. 29, 1992, at the Newton Medical
Center in Newton, Kan. He was a business manager for unified
School district No. 373 in Newton. He lived in Newton 10« years.

He was born Feb. 22, 1939, in Norfolk. Tonjes previously resided
in Bellevue.

He was a member of the Newton Rotary Cub and Zion Lutheran Church
in Newton.

Mr. Jonjes married Jean Uehling Sept. 11, 1960, in West Point. She
survives.

Other survivors include his parents, Raymond and Deloris Tonjes of
West Point; a son, Mark of Lenexa, Kan. a daughter, Kathy Collins
of Lafayette, Ind.; two brothers Hank of Bertrand and Ray of
Austin, Texas; one sister, Ann Tonjes, Austin. Visitation will be
12:30 p.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church, UCC in Uehling.
Burial will be at Uehling Cemetery, Warne-Johnson Funeral Home in
Hooper is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established to Zion Lutheran Church of Newton,
the American Heart Associatin and the University of Nebraska-
Lincoln.
