He attended the Post Oak Baptist Church. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a retired maintenance supervisor with Chamberlain Memorial Hospital, Rockwood, with 17 years of service.
He was preceded in death by father, Aught M. Wilson.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Joyce Wilson of Rockwood; son and daughter-in-law, James and Odessa Wilson of Baxter; daughters and son-in-law, Cynthia Cook of Knoxville, Carla Wilson of Cookeville and Christine and Bob Lowe of Rockwood; stepson, Ben Newport of Knoxville; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Darlena and Ray Owen of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Ruby Wilson of Rockwood; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Becky Wilson and Delano and Sheena Wilson, all of Dayton; sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda and Jim Pelfrey and Imogene Bishop, all of Rockwood; lifelong friend, Glen Holloway of Rockwood; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.
Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood. Burial was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Roane Memorial Gardens, Rockwood, with full military honors by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard.
