Donat P. Audet of Woonsocket, beloved husband, dad and pepere, died peacefully Feb. 4, surrounded by his loving family who were the joy of his life.

This man of character was an enthusiastic fan of his grandchildren's sports teams at Mount St. Charles Academy. Donat was a skillful master plumber and pipe fitter at General Motors for 25 years before retiring in September of 1992.

Donat leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Rita (Allard) Audet; and three children, Ted Audet and his wife Linda of Greenville, Lisa Audet of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Donna Foresti and her husband Mitchell of Greenville. Born in Central Falls, he also leaves four siblings, Dorice Murphy of San Francisco, Calif., Arthur Audet of Laurel, Md., Louis Audet of Detroit, Mich., and Richard Audet of North Providence; and his six grandchildren whom he adored, Andrea, Nicole, Nicholas, Eliza, Sarah Beth and Rachel. He was predeceased to our Lord by his parents Joseph and Eva (Nolette) Audet and his siblings, Joan, Albert and Joseph Audet, Lorraine Wnuk and Louise Daniels. Mr. Audet was a Korean War veteran, a member of the VFW and a communicant of Holy Family Parish for more than 53 years.

His funeral was held Feb. 8, from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at in Holy Family Church, South Main Street, Woonsocket. Burial with military honors followed in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to Holy Family Parish, 414 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI 02895 or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 will be gratefully accepted.
