A.H. Courtad Rites Friday
A funeral mass will be sung at 10:00 am Friday at St. Francis Chirch for Aloysius H Courtad, 64, of 1012 Webster Street, who died Tuesday morning at Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility after a lengthy illness.
Celebrant of theMass will be Rev. Fr. Joseph E Kohler, and burial will be in the family lot in Oakwood Catholic cemetery.
The body reposes at Martinson Funeral home in Traverse City where a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 pm on Thursday.
Mr. Courtad was born on September 21, 1895 at Cleveland, Ohio and lived there until moving to Traverse City in 1934. A state highway department employee for several years, he later was employed by Parsons Corp until ill health forced his retirement.
In 1916 he was married to Nellie L Courtade, who survives.
Also surviving are: six sons, Eugene of Huston, Tex., and Kenneth, Richard, Al Jr., Donald, and Bernard all of Traverse City, six Daughters MRs Joan Romis of Cuyahoga Fall, Ohio and Mrs Marie Ockert , Mrs. Eileen Newman, Mrs. Patricia Franke, Mrs. Geraldine Smith, and Miss Dolores Courtad, all of Traverse City; one brother Raymond Courtad of Cleveland; 23 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
