Denise Ann (Sharpless) Weber, 54, of Streetsboro, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015, after a seven-month battle with cancer. Denise was born in Buffalo, New York, on April 8, 1961, to John and Beverly (Bader) Sharpless. She moved from Buffalo to Streetsboro, Ohio, in 1991, where she raised her four children. Denise dedicated her life to being the best mother she could be and truly sacrificing and caring for her family. Denise worked as a U.S. postal carrier prior to serving for many years at the Portage County Department of Social Services. In 2004, she graduated with honors from Fortis College in Ravenna, Ohio, with a degree in nursing. In her spare time, Denise enjoyed knitting, bingo and being a grandma. Denise is preceded in death by her father, John Sharpless; and her grandparents.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Puricelli, and grandson, Jacob Phillips; her daughter, Katie Weber; her sons, Michael H. and Allen Weber; and their father, Michael G. Weber. Denise is also survived by her companion, Steve Klatka; her mother, Beverly Sharpless; her sister, Dorothy Smith; her close cousin, Michael Pembleton; her best friend, Lynn Coffelt; and many other loved ones.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 19, 2015, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM; with services following, at Adams Mason Funeral Home, 791 E. Market St., Akron, Ohio, 44305. A gathering to celebrate Denise's life will follow the service for those wishing to attend.
