James Frank Mottl, age 81, of Menominee, Mich., passed away at home with his family at his side on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. James was born on February 1, 1934, in Menominee, to the late Joseph and Alice (Hokensen) Mottl.

James graduated from Menominee High School class of 1952. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

He married the former Sharon Hruska on June 11, 1960, in Menominee.
James was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion Post 043. He enjoyed being outside, working in the yard and cutting grass. Jim and Sharon also enjoyed going camping with friends at the Coyote Park. Most of Jim's working life was in sales.

James is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Sharon;
three sons: Robert (Kelly) Mottl, David (Kimberly) Mottl and Brian (Wanda) Mottl;
five grandchildren including: Amy (Matthew), Julie, Tom, Jenny and Kendra;
two brothers: Norman Mottl (Marla) and Donald Mottl (friend Victor);
and other family members and friends.

Funeral services for James will be held at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 6 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of services. Rev. Mark Laatch will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
