She was born, in St. Anthony, to Bernard and Anna (Reinhard) Huerkamp. On Dec. 28, 1946, she married David Anthony, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Bill (Connie), Nashville, TN, Philip (Betty), Milpitas, CA, and Bob (Mary), Berea; three daughters, Mary Louise (Jim) Saunders, Georgetown, MA, Helen Hancock, Crescent Springs, KY, and Beth (Dave) Alvey, Leesburg, VA; sister, Kathryn Simpson, Joliet, IL; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant daughter Margaret, a brother, Frank Huerkamp; and two sisters, Marcella Anthony and Donna Dine.
She was a 1938 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Celina, and in 1942 from the St. Mary of the Springs College (now Ohio Dominion), Columbus, where she earned a degree in home economics. Following graduation she worked as a dietician for Mills Cafeterias in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Detroit. She served two terms as a board member on the New Bremen School board and also two terms on the Auglaize County School Board. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen, where she was a religion teacher, a church council member, served on the For the Harvest committee and on the St. Ann Alter Rosary Sodality. She was a charter member of the Child Guidance League, a Girl Scout leader, a Cub Scout den mother, P.T.A. Band Boosters and the Friends of the Library, all in New Bremen. She volunteered at Agape, St. Marys and was a Hospice volunteer.
Funeral Mass was at the church the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Following her request, her body will be cremated and the cremains will be interred at the St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
