Polk Dixon Gyles, 59, of Indian Trail, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015. He was born September 9, 1956. [The obituary says he was born in Gaston County and that he was the son of Anna Ruth Dixon Gyles and Ronald Corbin Gyles, but he was actually born in Rockingham County and adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Gyles.]

Mr. Gyles was an industrial service technician for over 40 years, most recently employed at GE-Energy Management, designing a medium voltage circuit breaker vacuum conversion, his shoes will be hard to fill. He was a beloved husband, father and friend and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan Smalley Gyles*; mother, Anna Dixon Gyles* of Charlotte; son, Joseph Dixon Gyles and wife, Jennifer of Mint Hill; daughter, Brittany Anna Louise Hoke of Charlotte; brother, Ronnie Gyles and wife, Mardee of Charlotte; and one grandchild, Cameron Gyles.
