She was born Josephine Beitz on April 10, 1910, in Norfolk, Neb.
On June 4, 1933, she married Jake Weiss in Brighton. He preceded her in death.
She was a medical technologist and later a professional cake baker and gourmet cook.
During World War II, she was a rural mail carrier in Johnstown. She farmed near Johnstown from 1947 until 1997.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greeley, for over 60 years.
She is survived by two sons, Robert, Arvada, and Theodore, Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Helen Phelps, Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, Alexander Beitz, Paul, Idaho; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
