Josephine Weiss of Westminster, a baker, died Tuesday. She was 89.

Services were Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greeley. Interment was in Loveland Burial Park.

She was born Josephine Beitz on April 10, 1910, in Norfolk, Neb.

On June 4, 1933, she married Jake Weiss in Brighton. He preceded her in death.

She was a medical technologist and later a professional cake baker and gourmet cook.

During World War II, she was a rural mail carrier in Johnstown. She farmed near Johnstown from 1947 until 1997.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greeley, for over 60 years.

She is survived by two sons, Robert, Arvada, and Theodore, Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Helen Phelps, Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, Alexander Beitz, Paul, Idaho; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
