Mr. Hunger was born in Norfolk and was retired from Lone Star Industries.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce W. Hunger; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert M. Hunger Jr. and Noreen Hunger, and Keith F. Hunger and Maria Hunger, all of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Walter D. Hunger of Norfolk and Maurice J. Hunger of Roanoke; grandchildren, Kimberly B. Hunger, Tara E. Hunger and Matthew R. Hunger, all of Virginia Beach; brother-in-law, Robert H. Watlington of Virginia Beach; and cousins, John W. Robbins Jr. and Kathryn E. Robbins, both of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the residence. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chesapeake Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
