Charles Siebert, employed as a shoe salesman in Springfield for many years, died at 11:05 p.m. yesterday at his residence, 944 South First street. He was 70 years old. Death followed a long illness.
Mr. Siebert was born Feb. 16, 1870 at Altamont, a son of the late William and Wilhelmina Holtz Siebert.
He came to Springfield as a young man and for many years was associated in the shoe business with his brother, the late Frank Siebert under the firm name of Siebert Brothers.
In recent years, he had been employed as department manager of The Bootery.
Surviving are his wife, Hettie; two brothers, G.A., city; and E.W. of Lovell, Wyo.; six nieces and ten nephews.
Three brother, Fred, Frank and William; and two sisters preceded him in death.
