Pauline B. Raschke, age 95, of Clear Lake, formerly of Goodwin, South Dakota passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake.

Pauline Bertha Raschke was born on November 17, 1910 on a farm in Deuel County, South Dakota to Joseph and Margaret (Raml) Byer. Her mother died when she was four years old and was raised by her Grandma Raml and her aunt and uncle. She attended school in Kranzburg.

On November 20, 1935 she married Vernon Raschke in Kranzburg. They farmed northeast of Goodwin. They moved to Rapid City in 1951 and then returned to Goodwin in 1960. The couple lived in Rapid City again from 1968-1979 before returning to Goodwin. Mr.Raschke passed away on August 20, 1981.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Annunciation Band of the Ladies Sodality and Eagles Auxiliary in Watertown.

She enjoyed playing piano, gardening and loved working with her flowers.

Pauline Bertha Raschke passed away August 27, 2006 in Clear Lake, South Dakota at the age of 95.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Joseph; her husband,Vernon; her siblings, Clem Byer, Bertha Byer, Ed Byer, Ann Kesteloot and Rose DeSmet; and her step mother, Gertrude Byer.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Raschke of Corning, CA and Roger (Diane) Raschke of Rapid City; one daughter Connie (James) Rabine of Goodwin; one brother, Wilfred (Betty) Byer of Tyler, MN; nine grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.

Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kranzburg.

Casketbearers will be Wayne Rabine, Clinton Rabine, Pete Fieber, Tim Fieber, Joe Raschke, and Philip Byer.
