William "Rock" Wright (1962 - 2012)
Obituary
------------------------------------------
William ""Rock"" Wright, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 29, 2012.
Rock was born in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Dec. 18, 1962, to his proud parents, Barbara and Roger Wright and spent his life in and around the bayous of Niceville, Fla.

Rock enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing; most anything involving the great outdoors. He was equally at home with a fishing rod in one hand and a cell phone in the other, negotiating deals while reeling in the ""big one."" Didn't matter if the ""big one"" was the fish, or the deal, it was all good. As an avid hunter, Rock bagged many an Alabama trophy, however, in his eyes, the real trophy wasn't so much the deer, but the camaraderie of his friends, hanging around the fire barrel, laughing, joking and building lifelong memories. Rock was the life of any gathering. Often the infamous ""rooster call"" or trumpeting elephant roar could be heard as he kicked up his snake skin boots and reveled in the moment. Many would gaze upon him and wish they could enjoy life as he did. To go for a ride on his ATV, cruise the bayou on the Nanny-B or take a spin in his truck was always an adventure. We will all remember how he challenged us to live life to the fullest.

As a business man, Rock was a true entrepreneur, engaging himself in the family business, D&H Oil, Turkey Creek Realty, Bay Hauling and numerous other enterprises. Good fortune allowed him to help those less fortunate. We will always remember the size of his heart by the generosity he bestowed upon others.

To his precious children and grandchildren, Rock devoted much time and energy to assure the absolute best that life had to offer. He loved his family more than anything and they him.
Rock Wright, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend, we will love you and forever cherish our time together. For now, you and Barbara hold the gates open to welcome us home and may peace and tranquility be yours always.

Rock was preceded in death by his loving mother, Barbara Wright. He is survived by his father, Roger Wright; brother, Rip Wright; former wife, Jackie Wright; children, Holly Tharp, Pebbles Wright, Porter Wright; grandchildren, Devrim, Dayton and Drake Tharp, Chase Shorey, Rayden Asbury, Briar Cheatham; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Porter Wright, Tyler Jackson, Howell Phelps, Ricky Yerby, Pat Haney, Ritchie Edwards, Danny Griffin, John Coon, Joey Fiorgionie and Jimbo Powell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Griffin, Sammy Edwards, Matt Clark, Charles Henriott, Jeff Gonzo, Frankie Nathey and Carrie Bolton.

Funeral Services will be held at Niceville Assembly of God located at 108 Highway 85, Niceville, Fla., on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ernie James and Pastor Phil Daniels officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at the church.

Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Valparaiso, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Niceville Assembly of God, located at 108 Highway 85, Niceville, FL 32578. Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, 2201 N. Partin Drive, Niceville, FL has been entrusted with arrangements. You may also sign Rock's guestbook at www.heritagegardensfuneralhome.com
