Bertha Stover, 79 Dies Saturday
Bertha Stover, 79, died Saturday, Jan. 26, at the
Fremont hospital while enroute to the Omaha Clarkson Hospital.
She was born June 6, 1900 on a farm northeast of Scribner
in Dodge County. Her parents were John H. Stover and Johanna
Maas.
She received her education in the country schools. She
was baptized in the Lutheran faith in 1900 and was a charter
member of St. John's Church since 1902. She is also a member
of the L. C. W.
She retired to Scribner with her brother, Fred, and
sister, Rickie several years ago, and then moved to the Good
Samaritan Center with them recently.
She is survived by her brother and sister, Fred and
Rickie, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her
parents and two brothers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. at
St. John's Lutheran Church on the Cuming Co. line. A prayer
service was held at the Spear Funeral Home Monday night at
7:30. Rev. Carl E. Hunzeker, Jr. officiated.
Pallbearers were Wilbert, Duane and Clinton Von Seggern,
Lawrence Muller, Wm. Pfeiffer, and Lowel Weitzenkamp.
Burial was in St. John's Church Cemetery, with
arrangements by the Spear Funeral Home.
