Irene C. Fuchs was born May 10, 1926 in Humphrey, NE to Vincent and Minnie (Kopetzky) Wieser. She grew up in the Humphrey area and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1944. Irene married Walter Fuchs on April 15, 1947 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church.

Irene lived in Schoolcraft, Lindsay, and Humphrey areas before moving to Columbus in 1983. She was employed at Becton Dickinson before retiring in 1989. Irene was an active parishioner at St. Isidore Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Third Order of St. Francis, Christian Mothers, B-D Alumni, and was involved in many volunteer activities.
