BURLEY – Frank Mesenbrink, age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT, due to complications from microscopic polyangiitis. He was surrounded by his family.

He was born Jun. 8, 1943 in Portland, Oregon, to Herbert E. and Barbara Mesenbrink. He graduated from Borah High School and studied drafting at Boise Junior College, both in Boise, ID.

Frank lived in the Boise area during his early years, but most recently in the Burley-Rupert area where he met his loving wife, Kathie. He retired from McCain's in Burley after 40 years as a draftsman. He enjoyed playing poker, fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, rock hunting, canning, and gardening, but mostly doing anything with Kathie. He was very friendly and outgoing, and loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He always had a smile on his face.

He is survived by his wife, Kathie Mesenbrink, of Burley; his mother; eight children: Tom (Melanie) Mesenbrink, of Nampa, David (Brook) Mesenbrink, of San Diego, CA, Linda (Casey) Dean, of San Diego, CA, Paula (Sean) Maki, of Idaho Falls, Donny Gransbury, of Elko, NV, Shane Gransbury, of Vancouver, WA, Tami Gransbury, of Portland, OR, and Steve Gransbury, of Burley; 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Judy Martin, of Pocatello, Vern (Betty) Mesenbrink, of Boise, and Jan (Dan) Kapalczynski, of Lewiston.

Frank was preceded in death by his father; and his children: Brenda Mortin, Lisa Gransbury and Donna Gransbury.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at the Burley LDS 3rd and 7th Ward Church, 2200 Oakley Ave. in Burley, with Bishop Steven Gerratt officiating. Final rites with urn placement will take place at the Pleasant View Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
