She was born in Providence, R.I., on Jan. 12, 1943, the daughter of the late Peter A. and Mildred G. (Bessette) Esposito. On June 27, 1964, in Rhode Island, she married Raymond "Sonny" Bovat Jr. Janet was a graduate of North Providence High School and was employed as assistant librarian for the Town of Georgia. She loved music, birds, enjoyed playing Scrabble and going to the Montreal Casino. Besides her husband of 42 years, "Sonny" of Georgia, she is survived by a daughter, Michelle Bovat and her fiancé, Russ Harnish of Latham, N.Y.; a sister, Joyce E. Minowitz of Fairfax; a brother, Peter A. Esposito of Essex Junction; a sister-in-law, Beverly Abentroth of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three nephews, Bob, Lloyd, and Tom; four nieces, Melinda, Amanda, Angela and Ashley.
She was predeceased by her father, Peter, on Dec. 11, 1969; her mother, Mildred, on March 20, 1995; and a brother in-law, Robert Abentroth, on April 16, 1967.
Janet's family wishes to thank Lori Collins, April Lacross and Annette Blanchard, hospice caregivers at Franklin County Home Health Agency, and Dr. John Saia, Dr. Stephen Grunberg, Brent Devenney and the Oncology Department at Fletcher Allen Health Care.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 15, at 12 noon in St. Ann Catholic Church on Main Street in Milton.
There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the family lot at St. Ann's Cemetery in Milton.
