Peter ZIMNY and Frances HYLLA were married on October 13, 1879 in Poland. The couple and several of their children arrived in New York City on April 28, 1885. The family then settled in Minnesota.

Notes from contributor "Wendelina" (#47649301) dated February 19, 2016: "Peter John Zimny was born on April 10, 1857, in Trebaczow, Poland - (Formerly known as Trembatschau, Silesia, Prussia) to Mathias and Josepha (Krowiorz) Zimny. He married Frances A Hylla on October 13, 1879. They had 12 children in 27 years. He died on January 12, 1937, in Royalton, Minnesota, at the age of 79, and was buried there. Here's some additional background that I found on Ancestry[.com]: Peter moved his family from Poland in 1885. When they got to America they lived in Fulda, Minnesota for a time, then moved to Minnesota Lake, MN. Peter wanted a larger place where he could raise cattle and crops. He met a man by the name of Fred Pugh who had a [farm] in South Dakota. They made a deal somehow and exchanged land and Peter bought the farm in Andover, South Dakota. There were no buildings on the [farm] except a sheep shed with a lot of manure in it. Peter and sons Leo and Sam went there first. They cleaned the sheep shed and made it livable. They then moved Franc[e]s and the rest of the children to South Dakota. They lived in that sheep shed for 4 years. They farmed during that time and then built an huge square house, it had 7 rooms upstairs and the main floor had a kitchen, pantry, separator room, dining room, living room and a bedroom. Peter said he only got hailed out once in the years they lived there. They had many out buildings. Peter ended up living in Royalton, Minnesota where he died. Peter[']s daughter Mary Kulla stayed with him the last years of of his life after Franc[e]s died[.]"
