Gravestone inaccurate. Betty's correct birthdate is October 9, 1889.
Ship's Log shows the SS Batavia, sailing from Hamburg, Germany, arrived Ellis Island Nov 16, 1906. On board was the Holecek family: 50 year old Alois Holecek, his wife, Louisa age 40 - and their children: 18 year old Bozena (who became Betty Halas), 17 year old Yaroslav (who became Jerry Holechek), 14 year old Ruzica (who will become Rose Gustin), 11 year old Vladmir (who became Walter Holechek), 9 year old Slawka (who became Sylvia Campbell), and 3 year old Johann Booivoj (who became John Holechek). This adds another layer in proving actual birthdates of these family members.
