SIDNEY — John Legrand Ordean, 65, 724 Chestnut Ave., Sidney, passed away at the Heartland of Piqua, Piqua, on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at 9:12 a.m.

He was born Oct. 11, 1950, in Sidney, the son of Richard and Treva (Weaver) Ordean, and they are deceased. Surviving is a son, Sean Ordean, and his wife, Yvonne, of Piqua; two sisters, Karen Cook and husband, Chuck, of North St. Myers, Florida, and Susie Freisthler and husband, Phil, of Sidney; and five brothers, Keith Ordean and wife, Donna, of Canyon Lake, Texas, Richard Ordean and wife, Starlene, of Bellefontaine, Steve Ordean, of Sidney, James Ordean and wife, Lee, of Sidney, and William Ordean, of Sidney; three grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was retired from Plygem Corp., formerly Alcoa, in Sidney, as a tow motor driver. He was a United States Navy veteran. He loved poker runs and was a regular patron at the 47 Bar and Grill in Port Jefferson. He loved to go to all his grandchildren's events. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Amberger. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio with full military honors.

Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Heartland, 580 Lincoln Park Blvd., Suite 320, Kettering, OH 45429.
