As a child in Youngstown, Ohio and the son of Polish immigrants, Frank helped his parents run a small grocery store out of their home by the steel mills where his father, John worked as a laborer.

As an adult, Frank worked his whole life in the local Youngstown, Ohio steel mills. Not long after Frank passed away, the last of the blast furnaces where demolished and Youngstown was no longer a "steel town."

Frank and his wife Lottie, raised two daughters, Louise and Jean. They enjoyed visiting their eight grandchildren.

Though Frank worked full-time and held a part time job at Youngstown State University as a night dean; he was eventually able to get a bachelors degree in metallurgy. With his degree, he attained a position at Youngstown Sheet and Tube where he would quality test the huge molten pots of steel among many other duties. He served 42 years at the plant. In retirement, he did some part-time consulting work in the steel industry and enjoyed traveling overseas with his wife.

During World War II, Frank wanted to serve in the Navy but due to having color blindness, he was rejected on medical grounds. He was exempt from compulsory military service due to his brother Joseph being drafted into the Army and thus, Frank became the sole son. Years later, Frank had a grandson who served in the US Navy and he was very proud of that.

For many decades, Frank battled skin cancer due to radiation exposure from an early 1930's medical procedure to cure acne (a time before radiation was considered dangerous). He lost his nose to cancer in the late 1960's and required a nose/skin graft with the recovery taking almost six months. Frank was very tough and determined, persevered about 20 years after the surgery reaching the age of 72 - living an active life the entire time. Despite the cancer, the exact cause of death is unknown.

Note - The cemetery is in Coitsville, not Coltsville which is posted on the cemetery site.
