An obituary in the 30 January 1927 edition of The Kentucky Post reads:
Carius Funeral
Prominent K. of C. Dies at His Home
Funeral services for Michael Carius, 75, of 325 E. Fifth-st., Newport, who died Saturday at his home, will be conducted Tuesday with services at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
Carius was retired last August after serving 52 years as clerk for the Adams Express Co. He was a member of the Newport Knights of Columbus and treasurer of the Catholic Knights of America, a Newport organization.
He is survived by his widow, Mary, one son, Arthur, and two daughters, Stella Carius and Mrs. William Walsh, all of Newport.
