Audrey Allison Lanier passed away on Tuesday December 29, 2015 at the age of 92. She was born on May 6, 1923 in Dallas, Texas.

Audrey was a beautiful vibrant and resilient woman who always knew how to see the good in everything and everyone. Audrey loved photography, cooking and traveling. Throughout her life she traveled all over the world and brought back many wonderful photographs and stories. She was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she developed many life-long friends.

Audrey and her late husband, John F. Lanier moved to Austin over 60 years ago where they raised their four children. She had an immense passion for gardening and the art of Bonsai. Audrey was a founding member of the Austin Bonsai Society (1971) and The Texas State Bonsai Exhibit (2000). She recently donated 26 of her specimen trees to the Texas State Bonsai Exhibit, where her bonsai trees will live on for generations to enjoy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Lanier and her two daughters, Holly Lanier and Spring Lanier.

Survivors include her son, John Lanier, her daughter, Michele McDonald, her grandchildren, Jerico Lanier, Jasmin Wisniewski, Ela Taylor, Amos McDonald and Gary Lanier and six great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind many beloved friends and she will be missed by all.

A special thank you to her dear friends, Ann Eby, Alisan Clarke, and Linda Marks, whose friendship and deep devotion to Audrey's care was paramount to her well-being.

Thank you to Central Texas Caregivers and especially Charli Sowell for providing such wonderful care.

Visitation will take place with a funeral service to follow at St. John's United Methodist Church.
