Obituary for Michael J. Kienzle
Michael J. Kienzle, age 72, of Lorain passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Elmcroft of Lorain.
He was born on May 13, 1943 in Lorain, Ohio to Michael and Marcella (nee Wright) Kienzle and graduated from Lorain High School in 1961. Upon his graduation he enlisted with the United States Army. He was a graduate of Northwestern University Traffic Institute.
Michael was a retired police sergeant who served with the Lorain Police Department for 28 years. He was a longtime member of the Lorain Rifle and Pistol Club and a member of the Beaver Creek Hunt Club.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed traveling around the United States on hunting trips, especially his elk hunting trips to Idaho.
Michael is survived by his brother, James Kienzle, of Lorain; nephew, Jeffrey J., of Tucson, AZ; and his niece, Jennifer (Anthony Salas), of Tucson, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Marcella Kienzle; and his brother, Carl J. Kienzle.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Private family interment will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
