Alden News - Word was received here Friday of the death of Gerald Grupe, the 13 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grupe, residing near Dows. Death was caused by complications of Bright's disease and for four long years, Gerald was a patient sufferer. After being treated at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines and Lutheran hospital at Hampton, he returned to his home and since that time has been under the care of a doctor. In spite of all that physicians and kind loving hands could do, he passed away to the Great Beyond, where there is no more suffering, on November 16, 1928.
The deceased is survived by his parents; a twin brother; two sisters, a baby brother and grandmother.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Dows Monday. Interment was in Dows cemetery.
