Mr. G. H. Feldman was born in Helmsheim, Baden, Germany, May 11, 1826 and died of cancer in the stomach in Mt. Pleasant Township, Jan 27th 1883, aged 56 years, 7 months and 16 days. Mr. Feldman emigrated to American in May 1854, landing at Philadelphia, where he married Dorothea Rosway the following September. In 1857 he removed from Philadelphia to Mt. Pleasant township, where he has resided ever since. His wife died in December 1876, and two years later he married Rosina Mack, who with the four children of his first wife survive him. In 1878 he bacame a member of Grove Lodge No 257 I.O.O.F. and was highly esteemed by not only the brothers of the Order but by all who knew him, as a friend and brother. He was buried by the Order, services being held at the Universalist church, sermon by Rev. C.A.Lander. He leaves in addition to his family, two brothers and many warm friends to mourn his death. George married his wifes sister [Rosina Mack], to take care of the children. Rosina daughter, Emma came west with her.
