Josephine Zima, 96, Utica, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1993. She was born to James and Marie (Kucera) Divis on March 16, 1896, near Brained. She attended school at Brainard. On April 7, 1915, she married Thomas Zima, and they farmed all their married life south of Tamora. Mr. Zima died Sept. 26, 1975. Mrs. Zima moved to Utica five years ago, and for the past few months had been a resident of Bethesda Care Center in Utica. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, seven sisters, sons Albin and Orville, and a daughter, Wilma Schultze. Survivors include her son, Emil; daughters and sons-in-law, Irene Zima, Sylvia and Buster Dey, Helen and Alvin Zieme; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 25 at Wood Brothers Chapel in Utica with the Rev. David Muench officiating. Graveside services were at Utica Cemetery. Casket bearers were Wayne Zima, Tommy Butzke, Donald Schultze, Milo Butzke, and Roger Beckmann.
