Peggy Lamb Ellis, of Farragut, passed away February 13, 2016. Peggy was 79. Peggy was married for 57 years to V. Patrick Ellis, Sr., and together they raised five children Peggy was a Registered Nurse and practiced for several years before she and Pat became owners of Lookout Mountain Tarpaulin Company in Chattanooga. They spent 38 years building a successful business before retiring in 2002. Peggy was a smart, strong, and artistic woman with a talent of creating a beautiful, loving home freely shared with all who walked through the door. Many nights she would cook for a dozen or more people who would sit crowded around a dinner table with good food, drink, and conversation. Peggy and Pat's warm hospitality was a key part of an every expanding circle of friends and family.

Peggy appreciated each family member for their individual talents and supported us in our life journeys. She was devoted to all of us, and she would brag about us to everyone who would listen. She taught us to be strong and independent and to also have an appreciation for the arts and culture. She loved to travel and wished she could have done more of it. She encouraged us to live in the present and not put off our personal wishes until later. Peggy was a dedicated wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Suzie Miltner and her spouse, Kris Miltner, Patrick Ellis Jr. and his spouse, Mitchell Bond, Roy L. Ellis and his spouse, Terry Popp Ellis, Mary Monroe-Ellis and her spouse, Harold Monroe, and John G. Ellis and his spouse, Anita Schonagen Ellis; many grandchildren, Mary Miltner, Katie Miltner, Daniel Miltner, Lauren Ellis Shuler, Zach Shuler, Christopher Marinus Holtrop, Jennifer Ellis Canady, Jessie Canady, Egan Monroe and Nolan Ellis; and 2 great-grandchildren, Cole Monroe and Savannah Shuler.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 20th in Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Father Michael Maples officiating. A reception to celebrate her life will follow in Milestones Event Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Knoxville Office on Aging Mobile Meals.
