Richard E. Harms, 78, of Roberts passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. He was born August 19, 1937 in Clifton, the son of Edward and Jennie Bruns Harms. Richard married Wendy Bailey in Watseka on March 30, 1990.

Surviving are his wife, Wendy Harms of Roberts; one brother, Edward (Marilyn) Harms of Ashkum; one sister, Dorothy Eshleman of Cullom; one daughter, Cassandra Harms (Marty Nelson) of Onarga; one step son, Robert (Kim) Kissee of Rankin; four grandchildren, Holly Zirkle, JR Nelson, Destinie Kissee, and Ryan Kissee; two great grandchildren, Skyler and Shelby Zirkle; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry and Melvin Harms; and one sister, Ruth Mikeworth.

Mr. Harms enjoyed sports, especially NASCAR, fishing, and crossword puzzles. He served in U.S. Army Reserves.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Onarga Cemetery in Onarga. Pastor Brian King will officiate.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
