Word reached this city, last Thursday morning that Reent Johlfs, one of the pioneers of this county, had passed away at his home near Iona. Mr. Johlfs suffered from a weak heart and frequently was afflicted with bad spells. About a year ago he had his right arm terribly mangled when that member was caught in a corn sheller. He was brought to the hospital in this city and the wound was dressed and in the course of a few months healed, but the shock of the accident left his heart in a much worse condition, and he died from that affliction. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of a wide circle of friends.
