Funeral service for Irene B. Knudtson, 78, of Joice will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Winnebago Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills. She died Aug. 30, 1998, at her home. The Reverend Bill Peters will officiate.
Vickie Thompson will serve as soloist, and organist will be Ruth Sheldon. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Kim Petersen, Susan Blaha, Laurie Wendel, Aaron Korth, Eric
Knudtson and Craig Knudtson. Casket bearers will be Blair

Irene B. Knudtson, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Huper) Carrow, was born July 6, 1920, at Edgeley, N. Dak. She was baptized Aug. 22, 1920, at Zion Lutheran Church in Edgeley, N. Dak., and confirmed there also on March 25, 1934. She graduated from Edgeley High School and before her marriage attend Teacher's Training in Wells, Minn.,and taught county school near Mansfield, Minn. and also near Edgley. Jan.27,1946, she was united in marriage to Charles B. Knudtson at Zion Lutheran Church. Knudtson was an active member of Winnebago Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband, Charles B. Knudtson of Joice; two sons, Steven Knudtson of Forest City and Dennis and his wife, Cheryl, of Andover, Minn,; one daughter, Carolynn and her husband, Michael Korth of Forest City; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers , Clarence Carow and his wife, Carvella, of Edgeley , N. Dak., and Ray Carow and his wife, Marlene, of LaMoure, N.Dak.; two sisters, Lucille Opdahl of Emmons, Minn., and Grace Rains and her husband, John, of Bloomington, Minn.; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and James Thomas; and one brother-in -law, Orrin Opdahl.
