Shirley G. Pitre passed away on February 28, 2016. She was born January 28, 1935, in Cut Off, Louisiana to Joseph and Ophelia Triche Galjour. Upon moving to Aransas Pass in 1967, she became a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church serving as a religious instructor and Eucharistic minister. Her passions were family, music, line dancing, gardening, and sewing.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Allen J. Pitre. Survivors are son Stewart Pitre of Aransas Pass, four daughters, Leslie Callais(Dick) of Metairie, Louisiana, Rachelle Hubbell(Danny) of Aransas Pass, Camille Sammons(Larry) of Brady, Texas, Roxanne Sundberg(Rex) of Rockport, Texas; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am-7:00 pm with the family to receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
