Born and died in Herzog, Russia. He died after the 1857 census and before the 1879 census/family list. Married Katharina Glocker (1794-aft 1857) from Rohleder, daughter of Johannes Glocker and Margaretha Wittman.

Descendants (not all listed):
1. Johannes Kuhn (1814-1887) married Katharina Brungardt(1824-bef 1875)
2. Michael P Kuhn (1822-1891) married (1st) Agnes Dreiling(1825-bef 1875) & (2nd) Elizabeth Sander (1824-1898)
3. Andreas Kuhn (1827-aft 1857) married Maria Kath. Dinkel (1831-aft 1857)
4. Peter Kuhn (1830-1871) married Katharina Junker (1831-aft 1857)
a. Andreas (1850-bef.1879) married Elizabeth There (?-?)
(i) Andrew A Kuhn (1873-1949)
b. Anna Kath. Kuhn (1855-1917) married Michael Goetz (1858-1894)
c. Michael B Kuhn (1858-1829) married Theresia Hertel (1860-1929)
d. Joseph Kuhn (1867 - ?) married Kath. Marg. Appelhans (1869-1910)
5. Martin Kuhn (1833-1891) married Katharina Ortmann (1835-?)
a. Michael Kuhn (1864-?) married Theresa Rohleder (?-?)
(i) Joseph Kuhn (1888-1971)
(ii) Martin Kuhn (1903-?) Floyd Scheck's correspondant

The above is consistent with the Herzog census for 1767, 1798, 1834, 1850, 1857, and the 1879-1912 family list. Die Herzoger, which uses information from the DInkel Genealogy by Floyd Scheck, published in 1976, names this Johannes Kuhn & Katherine Glocker couple as Michael Peter Kuhn and Margaretha Dinkel.

Also in Die Herzoger, sons 3 and 4, Andreas' and Peter's names are switched with Andreas listed as the husband of Katharina Junker and Peter listed as the husband of Maria Kath. DInkel. Not sure of the reason for the discrepancies because Floyd Scheck corresponded with the Martin Kuhn listed above and who lived in Russia at the time. There were multiple male Kuhns with the same name which probably contributes to the problem.

The cemetery for the village of Herzog, Russia was located at at 51.493273N, 46.706912E. Only a few crumbling headstones exist at the site at the current time.
