SCAPPINI, Walter Carmen Walter Carmen Scappini, 64, of Torrington, died Friday, (December 23, 2005) at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Linda (Marks) Scappini and widower of Rosemary (Radke) Scappini. Mr. Scappini was born July 16, 1941 in Waterbury, son of Walter L. Scappini of Waterbury and the late Lottie (Tatarinowicz) Scappini. He was a graduate of Crosby High School, Class of 1959 and earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford. He was employed at Timex Corporation as an electrical engineer of 25 years and also at Bridgeport Machines. While living in Wolcott, he was an active member of the Wolcott Jaycees, served as Chairman of the Young Republicans Club, was a member of the Wolcott Fire Company #3, served on the committee for the 175th Wolcott Celebration as chairman of the Commemorative Coin Project. He was tax collector in Wolcott from 1977-1978 before moving to Watertown. Besides his wife and father, he leaves a son, Walter Carmen Scappini II of Waterbury; a daughter, Sheila Haddad of Southington; two sisters, Patricia Scappini of Waterbury, Christina Scappini of Beacon Falls; stepsons, Jonathan Marks of Canaan, Steven Marks of West Hartford, Keith Marks of Lakeville; five grandchildren; a son-in-law, Eduardo Haddad; mother-in-law, Dorothy Sochnel of Southington; stepdaughters-in-law, Laura Marks, Kristen Marks; and several cousins and friends. Arrangements: A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway from 4-8 p.m. A service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Contributions: Charity of your choice or the Connecticut Liver and Kidney Foundation for Research.
