Elizabeth A. Milanek, 83, of Reading, died during the morning hours of Saturday, March 19, 2016 in St. Joseph Penn State Medical Center. Betty was predeceased by her husband George S. Milanek in 2000.

Born in Reading she was a daughter of the late Mack and Mamie (Lempas) Stankiewicz.

Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Kathleen "Kasia" M. Milanek of Kenhorst, and Sandra B. (Milanek) Stremba, companion of Michael L. Clayton, of Sinking Spring. Betty is also survived by Bogusia (Milanek), wife of Gregory Barr, of Mohrsville. Other survivors include her grandchildren: Brandy, wife of Zachary Skaf, of Stevens, PA; Dean Stremba of Mohnton, PA; Damian, husband of Ashley Zielinski, of Wernersville, PA; Krystian, husband of Monika Zielinski, of New York, New York; Justyna Zielinski, companion of Emmanuel Ortiz, of Ephrata, PA; and Matthew, James and Alexander Milanek of Mohrsville, PA. Betty is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Isaac Ortiz; and Sara and Natalia Zielinski. Also surviving are a brother, Fred Stankiewicz of Reading; and a sister, Doris (Stankiewicz), wife of Casimir Babula, of Bern Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was predeceased by her son, Stephen J. Milanek, in 2009.

Betty was a 1950 graduate of the former Central Catholic High School.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Betty loved to play bingo and go dancing.

She was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols.

Relatives and friends may extend their sympathy and respects to the family on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 250 South 12th Street, Reading, PA 19602. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary R. C. Cemetery, Reading.

The Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
