On Dec. 4, 1938, she married William Deines, who died in April of 2006. Bill and Marie farmed west of Billings and lived in the same farm home for almost all of those years. For many years, they were snowbirds in Arizona, enjoying the nice weather.
Marie had a very strong work ethic, seldom complained and always put everyone before herself. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even in her final days, seeing a little one always brought a big smile to her face.
Marie and William have four children: Gloria (Harold) Zeiler, Sharon (the late Don) Robertus and William (Donna) Deines, all of Billings, and Mary Lynn (Gary) Tassi of Phoenix; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; great-grandson, Cole Deines; and son-in-law Don Robertus.
Viewing will be at Smith's West Chapel, 304 34th St. West, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 6, at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 409 S. 36th St. The casket is closed at the church. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Pilgrim Congregational Church or to a charity of one's choice.
